Good juxtaposing, Bea...I always am amazed at the blindness people have about how many animals are killed versus how many people are ever even at risk of an animal harming them.
Yes there are some twisted ideas out there concerning the *danger* of farmed animals. I've heard more than a few times about them: "If we don't eat them... They'd eat us". I laugh - Then mourn for such an intellectually *slow* species as mine! :(
"For nothing" except economic gain and momentary pleasure - Certainly the value of life must trump these "gains". If not, we dare not call ourselves "enlightened". And at the very least - we should not consider ourselves "kind". It's Death For No Reason... You know the song! :/
