Unweaned Humans Stealing Mother's Milk from Babies

On this Mother's Day I can't help but think how strage it is that here in the US we have more calves being nursed by humans than by the mother's themselves.

The calves are all drinking
"milk replacements".

And who's drinking all the milk that nature provided for calves?  Why unweaned adult humans of course!  Humans that pay an industry to artificially inseminate females, steal babies from their mothers, and send babies to slaughter.  Humans that send pregnant cows to be killed...

Now, what is so "natural", "normal" or kind about this "wholesome" food?

Please do not eat mothers... or their babies -
Go Vegan for a better world!

I am still trying to figure out why humans began drinking milk from cows. I never really questioned it before, but now that I have, it seems very odd.

Hi Shereena... Yes, it does seem to be an odd thing. Apparently the practice started a scant 7500 years ago in European areas where vitamin D was an issue... Well, guess there was a bit of money to be made from it, so that eventually even with adequate D vitamins and sunshine it became an industry.
Stranger still though, is that most people are lactose intolerant, most dairy is made of "fat" - and the taking of milk requires so much brutality... Yet people just don't question as you have. Good on you for your inquiring mind! :)

Wow, 7500 years ago? Crazy. I was never a fan of milk as a child. My parents used to try flavoring it with chocolate syrup or strawberry syrup and sometimes that worked. Later in life, in my early 20's, I started eating a lot of cereal. I'd always pour a lot of milk over my cereal and then drink what was left. Every time I did this, I'd have an upset stomach. I attributed it to stress at first, but it took me a while to make the connection back to the milk. My doctor told me I am not lactose intolerant (he thinks it is caused by something else) but I am convinced I am. I try to stick to soy (milk and ice cream) but still eat regular cheese. Hopefully that will change this fall. I am moving and plan to scope out the local grocery stores to determine where I can shop for vegan alternatives :)

Most people are not lactose intolerant, just the Asians

Shereena, there is nothing wrong with drinking milk, it does a body good and it really does.

Anonymous - Cow's milk was meant to make a 40 pound calf gain 400 pounds in less than 5 months time. What on earth makes you think this is what humans require for their bodies?
Everything a human needs for complete protein and calcium can be gotten through plants --- Without the ill health and without the spilling of an ocean of animal blood!

You can kill your future children but not a cow, it has vitamins and minerals in it we all need. Animals are not people, thank GOD

Your animal "foods" are not necessary! I chuckled at this... A one ounce serving of dark chocolate contains 19 percent of the US RDA for iron. Yet an ounce of beef sirloin only contains 3 percent.

Anyway... Seriously - If we don't need to eat animals I just don't see the point of why we should...

Animals are sentient beings who value their lives equal to how we value ours. They are some Ones. They are some Body. They are individuals with the right to their own gOd given life. YOU are NOT the "gOd" with the authority to take it away... At least not with justification.

Now please, we've gone through this before. I recognize your grammar and your tone --- Write your own blog - Stop trolling mine!

Yes cows milk was meant for calves but it also is very nurishing for humans, We just require less of it than a calf does. Calves drink 2 or three quarts at a time, people drink 8 Oz. Most people realize this and know we don't require a lot just some for strong bones and good health.

Shereena, Most milk does not have a lot of fat(low fat milk), most people are not lactose intolerant, and also most small dairy farmers are very nice to their cows. The baby cows love them because they look for their milk from them. Did they have money 7500 years ago???? I seriously doubt that had anything to do with the drinking of milk. They just were smart enough to realize the benefits of drinking milk, ask the mayo clinic.

Anonymous - There's a growing legion of physicians who are discrediting "cow's milk". Please read The China Study by T.Colin Campbell - The peer reviewed research spans 30 years and concludes that the best way to absorb calcium and vitamin D is through a plant based diet.

As far as "small dairy farmers" being "very nice to their cows" - Guess you haven't seen the latest Mercy for Animals investigation? This "family run" business not only employed a man that brutalized cows and calves, but the video also shows the owner kicking a downed cow!

Did they have money 7500 years ago? Not only did they have money, but coins used to be stamped with the profiles of animals. The word "cattle" originates from "chattel"... Nonhumans exchanged for cash or goods is as ancient and vulgar as "original sin"!

There's absolutely no "need" to use another sentient being for our frivolous purposes. Want to really be "nice" to cows, chickens and pigs? Don't eat them or their bodily secretions - Very simple... Just go vegan! ;)
