- Oh well, it's cheap!
The U.S. of course does it's part to treat these cow's 'n calves like machines... In this article Meet Claudia the High Tech Cow we learn that "Feeding has also gone high tech. Each cow is fed individually, according to its lactation cycle. The cows wear a special collars that work with a computerized system to deliver the right diet to the right cow."
- Oh well, it's convenient.
And then there are the fistulated cows:
- Oh well, it's science.
And then there are these images from The Art of Dairy Art Contest -
How clever to have the gears and bearings made into the shape of a cow!
- Oh well, that's art!
Let's not forget the robots that do the milking of the
- Oh well, that's progress.
And silly meat-eating people... They believe that these beings treated like widgets their short, miserable lives, will finally have a soft and cozy "human" touch on the bleed rail. S-u-r-e...
-Oh well, that's
But you know, the more I see of how cows are mechanized... The pigs and birds too - I can't help but laugh at the notion that ranchers/harmers "care" for their animals... When really it's their machines that truly matter...
- Oh well, that's economics.
Meanwhile today I heard for the 4,289th time (but whose counting?) that plants feel pain!
- Oh well, my lucky day I guess...
If you are fortunate enough to be a critical thinker, capable of questioning if/why/how you were indoctrinated to believe that you should be drinking the milk of another species, or eating their flesh... You might be lucky enough to have become vegan... I'm wishing on a 4 leaf-clover that you are! ;)

Brilliant, Bea!
May this little post act as the "shot" (of satire) heard 'round the world.
Great post! Good biting sarcasm. Somehow, "Please stop being mean to the animals" doesn't seem to be working...
Go get 'em Bea. Happy Irish day to you. :-)
A weird world we live in, eh? Maybe someday...
Thank you CQ, David, veganelder and HGV. Yes... Maybe someday...(finally)
Saw a show the other night on The Nature of Things arguing that plants may be smarter than we think, although thankfully it didn't push the pain angle. It was actually quite fascinating and I'll blog about it sometime. :)
I'm (sort of) prepared for that argument... Causing "least harm" takes care of plant "pain" for me. I love to garden - So of course I see "life" and love observing a plant grow and thrive... It never makes me happy to see a tree fall - Or a flower die. BUT in the whole scheme of things... I'll happily "murder" a carrot over an animal any day. :/
Thanks for the visit - Stay happy!
It is so evident that you have never seen a real, working farm. Disgusting commentary on the hopeless fallicies that surround veganism. Do your research somewhere other than the peta website. Better yet, go visit a dairy, or a beef cattle farm.
Actually Cameron - I've been to quite a few farms and a couple of cattle ranches. Also married a farming boy from the Carolinas so there's not much that I could learn by going to yet another one of these enslavement camps.
And yes, to me - That's what they are. Just facilities that house future bags-o-meat. Of course all the owners of these precious beings like to make it sound like they have some kind of ethical footing. They'll tell you their occupations are necessary for human health and essential to the economy. They'll say that the animals live a good (although incredibly short) life... They'll say that it's part of their heritage and that it's their "right" to a livelihood.
But I don't need a peta website or any one else to tell me that killing is wrong. That using another living being for frivolous ends is cruel. That we can do quite well on a plant based diet and that the economy and environment might even improve for it.
There are no fallacies here... All beings love their lives. All wish to continue. It's only by force and ignorance that we manage to steal what is rightfully theirs.
The world would do well to spread its compassion to those who need it most... I certainly see animals as victims for they are trapped by our greed and gluttony.
Have a nice day Cameron... Despite knowing that you made zero impact for your cause. And that without ethical grounding the end of it is just a matter of time...
