The Irony... Milk Teeth and Carnivores

Lots of carnists like to defend their animal eating by pointing to their dentures and exclaiming "canines!"... Also known as eye teeth or cuspids.
Yet long after they lose their "milk teeth", usually an event that triggers weaning for most mammals... These advocates of flesh ripping still remain suckling on a teat.
Dairy slurping "carnivores"... Oh the irony!

"Irony (from the Ancient Greek εἰρωνεία eirōneía, meaning dissimulation or feigned ignorance)[1] is a rhetorical device, literary technique, or situation in which there is a sharp incongruity or discordance that goes beyond the simple and evident intention of words or actions. There is presently no accepted method for textually indicating irony, though an irony (punctuation) mark has been proposed." ...from Wikipedia

When irony occurs without the awareness of the irony perpetrator...that's sort of like ignorance...right?

Hey veganelder and thanks for the added info on irony! Yes - definitely it would be ignorance to not know when irony is present.

The hollow square box ⟨ would be a cool symbol for irony... Or this thingy:
( ؟ )...

Thinking and looking at these symbols reminds me of some frustration I had years ago when I needed a cent sign ¢ and found out they are special symbols that lots of programs don't even accept them anymore --- Sort of the way the physical penny might be going. No one told me they're worthless though... I still pick them up - Heads or tails!

Thanks for the extra new knowledge - I'm always happy to learn cool trivia! ;)

Hi Harry! See! This is how my brain works. It's in a constant examination of what doesn't appear normal or is out of sync. Goodness knows this carnist, inside-out, willfully dumbed down world provides me with plenty of entertainment! Ha-Ha!

Great to see you back! ;)

Hello, I followed you from the Vegan Rabbit blog... your blog is great too... always nice to see more vegans where ever you are... :)

Our scary 'canines'.... Ahem... That has to be the weakest argument for meat eating, only second to “But god told us to eat animals”. Personally I think it's completely irrelevant whether humans are omnivores or herbivores (we are NOT carnivores). Either way it's crystal clear that we CAN thrive on a plant-based diet, and that we don't need animal products to survive. Millions of people who are on a vegan diet are proving that. We also know that a diet high in animal products is damaging to our health. Now when we know this, how can we morally justify eating animal products? We can't.... meat eaters know that.... so we keep hearing silly arguments about our bloodthirsty canines...

Funny thing: my left 'canine' tooth is completely flat, while the right one is more pointy... now how do I develop a moral theory from this strange physical trait, that will benefit me?! Hmm... ;)

Oh gosh wildflower - I am soooo sorry! I somehow overlooked responding to your comment. I'm usually a little slow - But not like this. Please forgive...

Of course I agree with your conclusions too - Just because we "can" digest flesh - Doesn't me we have to - OR that we should!

That's interesting about your mis-matched canine teeth. Makes me wonder too - What about people who have all their teeth pulled? Or who lose them all? Does that automatically mean they eat only plants? Sadly, not - They'll get those artificial choppers and much away just like a lion would.

It's going to take a lot more than our dentures to establish what's the best/kindest diet to bite into. :/

Thanks for dropping by - And again - So sorry for such a tardy reply.
