A terrible incident has occurred in which almost 80 people have been infected and one person dead from an outbreak of anti-bacterial resistant Salmonella connected with "turkey" products.
Despite a recall back in April of 55,000 pounds of Jennie-O turkey meat, the USDA and CDC had yet to name the source of the current outbreak. And really, it's no wonder about the confusion - The recall was for products packaged on Nov. 23, 2010... Just days before the sacrificed one's were due for worship on holy "Turkey Day".
The recall has since been expanded to 36 million pounds (16300 metric tons).
And this new facility includes: solar power to heat its water; capture heat from the refrigeration system that can be used as heating source; and employ high-efficiency processing equipment as its pursues LEED Platinum certification. Check it out!
MRSA is showing up in random samplesof raw pork sold in supermarkets, and to a lesser extent in beef and chicken. Yet these potentially deadly cuts of meat -- unlike the salmonella-tainted eggs -- have never been yanked off the shelves.
There is no inspection for MRSA in the carcasses that are processed into "meat".
MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus), or drug-resistant staff infection. In 2005, U.S. hospitals treated more than 278,000 MRSA cases. Nearly 100,000 people faced life threatening illness and 18,650 died: 50 percent more than the number of AIDS death that year.
One million pounds of beef to recall... One million pounds of beef...
You take one down the slaughterhouse mound...
999,999 pounds of beef to recall.
999,999 pounds of beef to recall... 999,999 pounds of beef...
You take one down the slaughterhouse mound...
999,998 pounds of beef to recall.
999,998 pounds...
Seven are ill... The "fresh" beef was produced between early October 2009, and there is concerned that some product may still be frozen and in consumers’ freezers...
Here's 10,000 vegan recipes from former cattle rancher Howard Lyman - Thanks "Mad Cowboy!"
The USDA just recalled approximately 87,000 pounds of beef products that may contain the animal drug Ivermectin.
Ivermectin is used for the treatment and control of gastrointestinal roundworms, lungworms, grubs, and ectoparasites, horn flies, sucking and biting lice and sarcoptic mange mites on cattle.
Goodness knows anyone eating muscle, tissue, organs, blood, tumors, veins, tendons, boils, scar tissue and cancers wouldn't want any ugly roundworms in their "food" too!
The *meat* industry is very proud of the way it disassembles animals. Throughout the world they invest in billions of dollars worth of machines that take bodies apart.
The carcasses are halved, quartered, sectioned, pulverized, sliced, diced and "chipped".
Finally, what's left are little specks of flesh from millions of animals... jarred up neatly in little bottles sold as "Bacon Bits"...
"Bacon Bits" will also include an array of chemicals which include the following six: Potassium Chloride, Sodium Erythorbate, Dextrose, Sodium Phosphate, Sodium Erythorbate and the dreaded Sodium Nitrite.
According to Label Watch the only ingredient of any nutritional value is the mineral supplement "potassium chloride"... But the use of Sodium Nitrite has this warning:Cautionary Ingredient - This ingredient appears to be problematic and to "Avoid". UNSAFE, POORLY TESTED AND NOT WORTH ANY RISK.
But if all this does not ward you off of the use of this questionable "food" - perhaps this should:
The USDA announced the recall of approximately 3,590 pounds of bacon bit products that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
Consumption of foods with Listeria contamination can be fatal... or include these health issues:
listeriosis can cause high fever, severe headache, neck stiffness and nausea. Listeriosis can also cause miscarriages and stillbirths, as well as serious and sometimes fatal infections in those with weakened immune systems, such as infants, the elderly and persons with HIV infection or undergoing chemotherapy.
Want the great taste of "bacon-bits" without the Listeria? Without the deadly sodium nitrates (flesh preservatives)? Without the needless slicing/dicing and killing of innocent animals?
A few days ago I posted about the Irish pig meat recall... Today the USDA is recalling 78,941 pounds of the stuff distributed here in the US. due to possible dioxin contamination:
Massachusetts recalls 33,880 pounds
New York recalls 4,041 pounds
Florida recalls 41,020 pounds
All that pig flesh that was bred, that lived in cages, that got fed, that got drugged, that pooped (6 times more than a man), that underwent brutal transport, that felt fear and pain, that got slaughtered, that got shipped across an ocean, that became "garbage" for the U.S. to dump... Oh yeah - everything from the oink to the squeal...
r-i-g-h-t.
Like the box says... pig out intelligently - Go Vegan.
There's a recall of Irish pig *meat* that represents the bodies of approximately 100,000 pigs. The industry is scrambling to quickly find - then (slaughter and process) "replacements" so as to minimize economic calamity and to satisfy consumers appetite for "pork".
The recall is due to a contaminant in the feed - not unlike China's dairy melamine recall... This pig meat recall is due to a plastic as well. PCBs caused dioxin levels to be up as high as 200 times the recognised safety limit. "There is some hint that machine lubricating oils contaminated with PCBs (stable polychlorinatedbiphenyls) may have degraded to release dioxins which somehow found their way into the pig feed. But, more likely is that non-feed grade oil is being used at some point in the cycle to dry biscuit meal (out of date biscuits and bakery goods from the food industry)."
Poison by dioxin would include these symptoms: effects such as irritation to the eyes, allergic dermatitis, chloracne, porphyria; gastrointestinal disturbance, possible reproductive, teratogenic effects, liver, kidney damage, hemorrhage, and carcinogenicity.
Risks would come from consuming: Pork, Bacon, Pork sausages, Sausage meat, Offal from pigs (kidney, liver, heart), Salami, Ham, Sausage rolls, Pork suet (lard), Casings, Pork pate, Pork pies, Ready-made ham sandwiches, Ready-made bacon sandwiches, Ready-made pizza with ham, pepperoni or bacon as a topping.
So the pig-meat industry which globally touts it's efficiency at using everything on hogs "from the oink to the tail" is now burying, throwing out, trashing, and disposing of more than a million pig lives... Doesn't sound too thrifty or even "humane" to me. These animals were slaughtered with absolutely no "use" or "need". Guess that's more of the contradictions found in the flesh factories.
The suppliers of this feedstuff and method of rearing hogs is international. Irish pork spokesman are blaming unscrupulous sectors of the food industry and blaming them because "they (allegedly) used non-food materials in their products."
Actually... I don't think the animal feed or animal/meat sectors are "food" industries at all. They are feeding captive animals strange looking poisonous pellets. These animals eat till they are "finished" - Then once the nasty ordeal at the slaughterhouse is complete, their body parts are "processed" into cellophane wrapped *meat* pellets for human consumption.
That's the beauty of a vegan diet... you know exactly what your food should look like:

Attention omnivores... please avoid the
ARTIFICIALLY COLORED "ZEIGLER WIENERS MADE WITH CHICKEN AND PORK" aka: pigs and birds...
The USDA has issued another recall - this time for 28,610 pounds of hot dogs (that were previously living beings) because they might be contaminated with deadly Listeria monocytogenes.
For your dining pleasure (and health) may I suggest a wholesome, delicious and cruelty free vegan alternative
Maine Firm Recalls Frozen Stuffed Chicken Products That May Contain Foreign Materials: a recall of "approximately 41,415 pounds of frozen stuffed chicken products that may contain foreign materials"... gosh... gee... that's an awful lot of waste and lives to make up 41 thousand pounds... just to be dumped in a land fill...
The foreign matter in the "Schwan's Stuffed Chicken Kiev" is rubber...
As we know, a "rubber chicken" is a classic prop for jokes and games... USDA - Meat and Poultry... are you playing with your "food" again?
As you may know China has recalled vast quantities of dairy products, meat and now eggs because of "excess" quantities of melamine (or plastic) in animal feed.
"According to the Information Times newspaper, inspectors tested 531 types of feed and eight batches—a total of 6.48 tons—came up positive for melamine. Feeds are used as food to raise chicken, duck, cattle, pig and fish."
Epoch Times - Inspectors in China Find Tons of Melamine-Tainted Animal FeedThink it's only China feeding plastic to it's animals? It's a common practice here in the U.S. as well. In fact, during the slaughtering process - about 20 lbs per cow is collected during evisceration - to be re-cycled back to feedlots and factory farms so they can feed it to the new crop of future victims."Food animals" are also being fed:Same Species MeatDiseased AnimalsFeathers, Hair, Skin, Hooves, and BloodManure and Other Animal WastePlasticsDrugs and ChemicalsUnhealthy Amounts of GrainsOh... and cows eat blue jeans too:http://aipl.arsusda.gov/kc/more/overbay.pdfI'm no mathematician so I'll leave it to better minds than mine - But if one could calculate all the recalled meat... all the contaminated feed... all the waste trying to raise animals as "food" it would be in the billions and billions of tons per year of "waste". If we could just stop trying to feed people animals and focus on the healthy, (logical) alternative of plants we indeed would be on our way to solving world hunger. The meat industry may brag about using every part from the "oink to the tail" - but what wastes and inefficiencies exist in between? For more information on veganism: Choose Veg
The USDA is issuing a recall of " 8.9-pound cases of ready-to-eat "Jolly Good Banger Rolls." and "24-pound cases of raw Jolly Good Banger Rolls." for undeclared egg allergens...
But in case your curious what a "Banger Roll" is... it's definitely pieces of animal parts ground up and seasoned and preserved in such a way that it resembles and is eaten as "food" by some... they call it "meat" - In this case some kind of fatty tissue with a blend of pig snouts no doubt. Some people will eat anything it seems!
For mild amusement... their site is worth a look - Warning: graphic obnoxious music. I'm not kidding.
What a daydream these people are in... Are we supposed to be drooling at the cellophaned remains of a carcass that has been mushed into it's own intestines? Ick!
