Did You Trick Your Meat To Death? Fear Not! Go Vegan Instead!

I'm sorry gentle readers... But as luck would have it there's yet another post that includes the opinions of the meat industry's darling - Ms. Temple Grandin.

The crux of the matter is that consumers are afraid that the animal-targets are afraid! Consumers want to be assured that the deed is done without the animal's knowledge or fear.  Wouldn't want any bad juju in that burger right?

I guess it all comes down to how cunningly you set the stage for the murder... No rattling chains or slippery floors to panic the poor unsuspecting victims. No doubt these folks are masters of trickery and foolery. But you dear meat-eater can trust them, so they say!

You know... A good friend of mine lost his sister in a car accident. It was instant. Guess the drunk driver shouldn't have been held accountable as she never knew what hit her... Literally. ***** Just because you can "sneak up" on an another and snuff them without their knowledge doesn't make the act of killing an innocent being any less violent or offensive.

A final thought to ponder... For every "calm" cow or pig that is sacrificed to the throne of human gluttony there are hundreds of hysterically frightened, out of their minds-scared, petrified birds that often die of heart attacks when they are slated for "humane slaughter". Looks like the meat industry isn't going to utter a word about the issues regarding these panicked "chickens".

This is the most reprehensible violation of human(e) decency! Eating flesh is NOT NECESSARY! If you are not vegan yet don't comfort yourself with taking life in a "gentle" manner. All life-theft hurts the one who's life is stolen. Whether they fear that loss or not doesn't change the crime!

Why harm when you don't have to???
Please be courageous in your ethical code. Go Vegan.

A Disturbed Turkey Party

The captured image below is from a video titled The Turkey Party. The creator of this video also hosted the beheading of this bird by a very young, inexperienced executioner. No need to watch the gore... Suffice it to say that the crowd of guests got to witness this creature endure a series of brutal, inaccurate swings.

People excuse the habit of eating animals by saying that the victim doesn’t know, doesn’t feel, doesn’t care, is complicit, or isn’t even there. This one turkey certainly knew. Felt fear. Was terrorized. Resisted. And was definitely present in all of his desperate being until his exhausted end.
*****
And just like this video and the people who made killing a festive event, centuries ago people won lotteries for the opportunity to witness these acts of slaughter and relished seeing the final moments of expiring life.

Entertainment for the mob
And just like this video too, these public and legal murders weren't without their incidents of ineptness either:

In Britain, beheadings were carried out by the “common hangman”, who had very little practice or experience, which often led to unfortunate consequences. These axemen would often show up in a drunken state, no doubt to numb themselves from the task at hand. And just like the Turkey-Party-butchers the positions of headsman were often passed down from father to son.

In 1587 it took four blows to remove Mary Queen of Scot's head.

Robert Devereux Earl of Essex was executed at the Tower of London in 1601. Over 100 people witnessed the execution - three strokes of the axe were needed to sever his head.

Margaret Pole, Countess of Salisbury was dragged to the scaffold but refused to lay her head on the block. She struggled and was forced down. The inexperienced executioner made a gash in her shoulder rather than her neck. She leapt from the block and was chased by the executioner, with his axe in full swing. She was struck eleven times before she died. There were 150 witnesses to her execution.

The Execution of Lady Jane Grey (1834) Paul Delaroche
Anne Boleyn, Queen of England was terrified at the prospect of being beheaded by an axe. She was therefore granted some clemency and a swordsman was called from France to undertake the execution.

Queen Catherine Howard, pleaded with her husband King Henry VIII to supply her executioner with a block so that he could practice her execution.

In 1890 Anna MÃ¥nsdotter of Sweden was executed. In her case, the blade of the axe passed through her lower jaw which was left attached to her neck afterwards.

The Execution of Sir Walter Raleigh by Severino Baraldi
The victims would pay the headsman large sums in hopes that he'd complete his job with swift precision. The victim was also expected to forgive the executioner.

"Please don't hurt me. I don't want to die!"

I realize that even today in the most primitive cultures such depraved violations of life and the sanctity of one's body still occur to humans, and most of us recognize it as barbaric and unjust. But these executions take place in "turkey parties" in hundreds of slaughterhouses every second. Likewise, the crowds huddle around the meat cases and tell the same lies, that the victims didn’t know, didn’t feel, didn’t care, didn't resist, or are made invisible. These deceptions let mobs make self-serving exceptions that trivialize butchery, under the guise-of-a-leap of "humane" faith.

"Anyone who says that life matters less to animals than it does to us has not held in his hands an animal fighting for its life. The whole of the being of the animal is thrown into that fight, without reserve."
(Elizabeth Costello, in J. M. Coetzee's book The Lives of Animals)

If you intend to have one of these sacrificed turkeys as a holiday celebration - Please don't fool yourself that this being didn't have a violent and painful death. Or that they didn't struggle and plead for their lives. No one consents to be killed. And we know their life was full of misery as well

This is just one suggestion in thousands of options that will allow you to avoid the un-festive consequences of botched slaughters and the gloom that comes with all killing. On holidays and always, please consider kind, abundant, life-affirming vegan options instead. Thank you.

Instructions For Murder. Don't Try This On Your Home Planet

There's a fund drive to produce a movie called Abattoirs Rising that hopes to make the grand finale of meat-animal-victims less stressful by means of mobile slaughter facilities.

You can also build your own portable bird killing apparatus.
Instructions and charts are included that show how to "put the bird in the kill cone first to keep it confined, then pull the head down making the neck taught and then slice the carotid with a sharp knife."

Seems everyone and anyone (brutal - do not go if you know) has a special method on how to effectively put an end to some one's life!

This woman does the job by gently stroking the bird while she prepares to "respectfully harvest" the hen. Before the stabbing, she softly coos "Hey Lady"... "Hey Beautiful"... She breaks the bird's neck. Then twists and snaps it off. She then gets teary eyed and says "It's never easy. I've killed hundreds of chickens this way".

Or there's this man who tells his two grandsons as he's hanging the bird's legs to a rope tied to a tree, "You have to be nice to them, cause there's no reason to be mean".  (I wonder just how are the kids supposed to know what being "mean" is?)

A quick observation will show that there's a clique' of home-spun blood-lust on youtube. Some try to fancy it up by calling it "humane". While others don't pretend for a moment that it is.

But when these do-it-yourself murderers enlist and encourage the participation of kids, it becomes even more disturbing. Do children have the internal compass or courage to be able to evaluate what they're doing? Isn't it very possible that they are repulsed and unwilling, but fearful to admit it? Could Buddy have been his authentic self, if it was in rebellion to his father's expectations?

What about darlin' Darlene as she's egged on to shoot the pig in the truck? They praised her after the "perfect shot". But what kind of ridicule or punishment would she face if she had declined?

But the world we are privileged predators in, is in such a schizophrenic state. In nearly all circumstances, most of us who follow a pretense of social "rules", would never condone the harm of another being. But make it a "food animal", and let it be some one's kid being instructed to cause the damage, and we haven't the gumption to voice a peep of resistance for either victim. Clearly it's SEP.

Since we all live here though - I'm calling murder when I see it.

And the carnists are getting away with it because there aren't enough justice seekers to put an end to it! Maybe more people ought to take the meat from out of their ears and get their minds off their stomachs, to see the real problems as they are. It's the social justice issue of our time! And the holocaust starts in our own back yards and extends to our home all over our planet!

I'm telling carnists now that your habits sicken me. The way you cavalierly dispose of other lives for gluttony and/or greed offends me beyond words! What kind of mad people are we anyway in the 21st Century? Stop with the blood-letting already - Please!

A Look At Portentous and Pretentious Holy Meat

I've been told a time or two that I have an unconventional sense of humor and that's nothing that I can argue with. And so when I read about the pope meeting with Jewish religious leaders, to discuss which method of animal slaughter is the "god-approved" way, I couldn't help but see the twist of a joke that needed to be teased out.

So here's my look at the conversation:
And should anyone find my opinion irreverent, so be it. I can only add my dismay that others can't see the absurd vulgarity in even speculating the "right" way to do such an evil deed as snuffing the life of an innocent!

Look at the photo that shows them with smiles and exchanging pleasantries, while they determine the merciless fate of countless victims. Shame on anyone who professes to be enlightened while fabricating methods to make blood-shed sacred! No matter how it's done, the deliberate act of animal murder and meat eating lacks compassionate wisdom, and is void of dignity. It appeases the most base, mindless gluttony while presenting a sham of virtue. It's not hallowed. It's hollow! It's not divine! It's depraved! It's not sacred. It's sinister! Needless killing is not a magnificent ideal! It's a morally bankrupt impoverishment!

The Honesty of Being Vegan - Let's Shake on it!

Some of the time it's just amusing for me to look at the language the animal industries use... Words never are quite what most of us would think they should be. "Friendly fire" anyone?

In the case of the dairy folks this comes from the March issue of their online magazine:

You'd think with a lead like this it was an article in Parent's Magazine or New Nursing Mom or something... I mean honestly? Dear dairy folks and consumers: Is any cow's mammary secretions - That she makes for her own calf really "yours"???

Must be like the uneasy financial news for hogs. In truth pigs could give an oink about any exploiter's profits. :/

And here's some other things that the pork folks are talking about using a twisted kind of double speak:

They say that the profits are all on "her back":

But closer to the truth is that her little ones are all on their backs ---

Getting their wee tails cut off all while animal "welfare" in the slaughterhouses is being discussed!
And speaking of animal "welfare" in slaughterhouses... Here's what's happening in cheap-speak from the "poultry" folks. {my bold thoughts in brackets}:
"Having been safely {safely? whose safe here?} held in the lairage, the birds will then be moved to the hand-on point. Ensure that the baskets/modules are handled carefully {handle the baskets carefully - but certainly NOT the birds!} and that all operations are completed smoothly. The hand-on point is critical to the bird's welfare {eye roll}. Staff must be trained to shackle birds with minimal force {minimal force? Just enough to end their lives.} and ensure that both the bird's legs are located in the shackles. As part of the shackling process staff should be encourage to momentarily calm each bird by placing a  hand on the bird's back. {LIE! With 10,000 chickens murdered per hour they want the public to think that each individual bird is "calmed"?} Good shackling practice will not only reduce bird stress, but also minimise flapping that can cause haemorrhages in the breast muscle, so adversely affecting the quality."

"The line should be designed with a breast comforter..."

{Odd isn't it? That the kill line should be equipped with a breast comforter?} :/
"The final welfare check should be made at the exit of the stunner." {Really??? We're checking for "welfare" after the electrical bath and pre-neck slitting? LMAO!!!}

The article concludes:
"It's a good investment to take time to look at the slaughter line in detail as the benefits to the bird and your business can be significant."
page 6/7 Poultry Digital

{Yeah right --- A slaughter line that's to the "benefit" of the birds... My tush!}

No surprise but even the "beef" people want to convince their flesh-eating customers of cow "welfare":
From the video of Kansas State University Veterinarian Dan Thomson
Truth is --- Everyone wants in on the idea of "careful", "humane", "welfare" for animals - But honestly - There's only one way to do it:

You can shake on it and go vegan!

In the Crosshairs of Gun Violence & Slaughter of the Innocent

Is it really that hard
to make
the connection?
There is a sacred spark in all life...

“We need never look for universal peace on this earth until men stop killing animals for food. The lust for blood has permeated the race thought and the destruction of life will continue to repeat its psychology, the world round, until men willingly observe the law in all phases of life, ‘Thou shalt not kill.’”
Charles Fillmore, “The Vegetarian,” May 1920

The human cycle of violence will not stop until we stop the underlying violence, the remorseless violence we commit against animals for food.  The lesson is plain: when we harden ourselves to the suffering we inflict on animals in our own interest, and justify it by proclaiming our superiority or specialness, it is but a short and unavoidable step to justifying and inflicting the same kind of suffering on other humans in our own interest while likewise proclaiming our supremacy or specialness.
Will Tuttle
Author of The World Peace Diet

There will never be any peace in the world as long as we eat animals.
Isaac Bashevis Singer
Nobel Prize Winner in Literature 1978

To advocate the rights of animals is far more than a plead for compassion or justice towards the victims of ill usage; but for the sake of mankind itself, our true civilization, our race-progress, our humanity.
Henry Salt
Artist, traveller, diplomat, and Egyptologist 1780–1827

As long as men massacre animals, they will kill each other.  Indeed, he who sows the seeds of murder and pain cannot reap joy and love.
Pythagoras
Greek philosopher 570 - 490 BCE

NEW STUDY CONFIRMS EATING MEAT DOESN'T HARM ANIMALS

APRIL FOOL!
THE TRUTH ABOUT HUMANE SLAUGHTER
Nothing "humane" happens in the bowels of a kill floor.
"Humane" means to be concerned with the alleviation of suffering. These beings are not ill, maimed or otherwise "unhealthy". They are not in an aging pain. They are delivered "fit for living", so there is no "suffering to alleviate". Nor do they go willfully to be extinguished. They are physically forced to their early, unhappy and unjust end. They are being slashed from this earth by a perpetual machine that must be fed... This machine is run by a conning, yet intellectually lazy culture that says to so is "necessary". And to do so for profit is even better...

From the time we're born we're taught that animals are our irreplaceable "food". This false and archaic idea of "necessity", along with dogmatic social habits and demands, is what is required to believe the myth of "humane slaughter". Indeed the wrongness of animal use, is an idea that must be rationally inspected and rightfully discarded for the bung that it is!

So please... Don't be a fool - Go Vegan!

TODAY 128,998 COWS WERE NOT KILLED BY ARROWS

Today in the U.S. two cows were killed by hunting arrows.
The other 128,998 were snuffed the usual way:

If one person is unkind to an animal it is considered to be
cruelty, but where a lot of people are unkind to animals,
especially in the name of commerce, the cruelty is condoned
and, once large sums of money are at stake, will be defended
to the last by otherwise intelligent people.-Ruth Harrison

Dirty Dairy - Stolen Milk - Calf Slaughter - Ugly Cheese - Go Vegan

Her Heaven
Let her wake to a rough tongue cherishing the length of her; to cloud-warmth of milk and fur, no memory of metal or blood. Two bodies, one dream. Little star-breath drifting through night.
Written by Francine Marie Tolf and is one of the poems in her book Like Saul (©.
But the dairy industry is far from this picturesque scene of mother and child...
It is a nasty, deceitful business which has no respect for the living aside from what money the flesh and stolen secretions will bring. Even "the product" is linked to cancers and other human ills. And the "waste" contaminates rivers and drinking water...
Oh yeah... And often the dairy industry will kill mother and child together. Not quite "poetry". But if you drink milk, eat cheese and consume dairy - You should have the stomach to see what you are supporting:
If this sickens you. If you want a cleaner environment and a healthier body - Please... Go Vegan

HAMMING IT UP! Chinese Pig Survives Earthquake - Denmark Pork Chops... not so lucky.

Life's just not fair - we know this... A pig survived 36 days following the 7.9 mag quake in China and has been returned to his original captor, to be named "Zhu Jianqiang" meaning "strong willed pig". Zhu Jianqiang was trapped in the farm shed and held on to his dear life by eating charcoal and drinking rain water. His weight dwindled down to a mere 110 pounds by the time of his rescue. Now there's an insurance policy on his life and he's even been voted an ambassador at a traveling livestock exhibit in China! The Chinese people admire his pluck and will to live.
Contrast this with the pork processing facility in Denmark which boasts it's "animal friendly" treatment of it's pigs. The operation slaughters up to 92,000 pigs weekly.

Too bad not one of these 92,000 animals has a "strong enough will to live" to figure a way out of the "CO2 group stunning machine". I mean, how hard can it be anyway? It's not like your asked to survive an earthquake or anything like that!
Guess that's why people eat the critters... Heck if they don't value their own lives enough to want to save themselves - why should we? Since they don't care enough to want to live, it's only right that they should made into yummy sausages and hams for consumers. People have a sense of fair play you know, and reward the instinct to survive...
The rest... they're all just porkchops!

UNLUCKY IRISH PIGS GET TO DIE TWICE - WASTEFUL & POISONOUS ANIMAL AGRICULTURE

There's a recall of Irish pig *meat* that represents the bodies of approximately 100,000 pigs. The industry is scrambling to quickly find - then (slaughter and process) "replacements" so as to minimize economic calamity and to satisfy consumers appetite for "pork". The recall is due to a contaminant in the feed - not unlike China's dairy melamine recall... This pig meat recall is due to a plastic as well. PCBs caused dioxin levels to be up as high as 200 times the recognised safety limit. "There is some hint that machine lubricating oils contaminated with PCBs (stable polychlorinated biphenyls) may have degraded to release dioxins which somehow found their way into the pig feed. But, more likely is that non-feed grade oil is being used at some point in the cycle to dry biscuit meal (out of date biscuits and bakery goods from the food industry)." Poison by dioxin would include these symptoms: effects such as irritation to the eyes, allergic dermatitis, chloracne, porphyria; gastrointestinal disturbance, possible reproductive, teratogenic effects, liver, kidney damage, hemorrhage, and carcinogenicity. Risks would come from consuming: Pork, Bacon, Pork sausages, Sausage meat, Offal from pigs (kidney, liver, heart), Salami, Ham, Sausage rolls, Pork suet (lard), Casings, Pork pate, Pork pies, Ready-made ham sandwiches, Ready-made bacon sandwiches, Ready-made pizza with ham, pepperoni or bacon as a topping. So the pig-meat industry which globally touts it's efficiency at using everything on hogs "from the oink to the tail" is now burying, throwing out, trashing, and disposing of more than a million pig lives... Doesn't sound too thrifty or even "humane" to me. These animals were slaughtered with absolutely no "use" or "need". Guess that's more of the contradictions found in the flesh factories. The suppliers of this feedstuff and method of rearing hogs is international. Irish pork spokesman are blaming unscrupulous sectors of the food industry and blaming them because "they (allegedly) used non-food materials in their products." Actually... I don't think the animal feed or animal/meat sectors are "food" industries at all. They are feeding captive animals strange looking poisonous pellets. These animals eat till they are "finished" - Then once the nasty ordeal at the slaughterhouse is complete, their body parts are "processed" into cellophane wrapped *meat* pellets for human consumption.
That's the beauty of a vegan diet... you know exactly what your food should look like:

NAUGHT CHRISTMAS REINDEER MEAT BURGERS - NOT NICE - NOT VEGAN

Tis the season... Oh you better watch out Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, and Rudolph - looks like IKEA is marketing your flesh to celebrate the holiday cheer!

LONDON, Dec. 3 (UPI) -- A British animal rights group is calling on the Swedish retailer Ikea to stop selling reindeer meat at its stores in the United Kingdom. Viva!, a group form Bristol, England, says modern methods of hunting reindeer cause the animals mental and physical stress, The Daily Telegraph reported Wednesday.
After being chased by land and air, the reindeer are marched to a slaughterhouse where they face anything but a humane end, says Justin Kerswell, Viva! campaign manager. "We are calling on the company to withdraw sales of the meat due to the cruel exploitation these wild animals suffer at the hands of the hunters," he told The Daily Telegraph. Kerswell said more than 70 percent of reindeer slaughtered for meat are calves born the previous spring. His organization has persuaded British supermarkets not to stock the meat of kangaroos and other exotic animals, the newspaper said.
Reindeer meat is popular in Scandinavian countries where it is used for meatballs and sausage.
I think that's very naughty! Instead this Christmas wouldn't it be nice if we actually lived our words that desire "peace and goodwill"? If we left the violence, the pain and suffering off our plates! That's what I'm asking Santa for this year... A VEGAN world -
